Does the plugin support FedEx Freight (LTL)?
Not yet.
Currently, the plugin does not support the FedEx Freight LTL API.
If your shipments exceed standard FedEx parcel limits or require palletized freight, they cannot be rated using the current API.
Available alternative: Multi-Box Shipments (each box ≤ 150 lb)
Although FedEx Freight is not supported, you can still ship large orders by splitting them into multiple parcel packages — as long as each package stays within FedEx standard parcel limits.
FedEx Live Rates PRO supports multi-box shipments, meaning one customer order can be rated and shipped as several separate packages.
How to use it
To enable realistic multi-package splitting:
- Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping → FedEx → Packing Method.
- Select Pack into custom boxes.
- Define one or more custom boxes with:
- internal dimensions
- maximum weight per box
- The packing algorithm will automatically:
- split the order into multiple packages,
- balance the weight between boxes when possible (near-equal weight distribution),
- ensure each box stays under the FedEx 150 lb parcel limit.
👉 This is currently the best way to handle larger orders without using freight.

Important limitations
The FedEx API will not return rates if:
- a single product exceeds the internal dimensions of the selected box, or
- the product (or packed box) exceeds 150 lb (≈68 kg).
In those cases:
- your shipping method may show no rate,
- or it may fallback to another shipping method (if enabled in plugin settings).
